LASER SKIN TIGHTENING

Turning back the clock

As we age, our skin reflects damage from the sun, the elements and wear and tear of daily life. In response we often seek aesthetic procedures to restore a fresh and youthful appearance. Laser skin rejuvenation using Yag Laser – one of the most popular cosmetic treatments today – provides the ideal answer. Delivering gentle, subtle improvement, it gives your skin a younger appearance. Your skin will appear naturally even-toned and healthy, without the artificial look of other cosmetic treatments. And with no downtime, laser skin rejuvenation is ideally suited for today’s active lifestyles.

Removing age spots, most brown pigmentation, and redness due to broken capillaries, these treatments help “turn back the clock”. In addition to these signs of photodamage and early ageing, laser skin rejuvenation improves dull complexions, uneven pigmentation and large pores, as well as red flushing skin and rosacea.

Unlike deep laser resurfacing and chemical peels, laser skin rejuvenation is not accompanied by an extended period of redness and swelling, nor does it involve ablation of the upper layer of skin. Microdermabrasion has limited utility, and it is ineffective in countering redness, flushing, and broken capillaries

How does AFT pulsed light technology work?

Yag Laser is applied in a series of gentle pulses over the treatment area. Without damaging the skin the light penetrates the sub-surface of the skin layers and is absorbed by the blood vessels or by pigmentation. The heat impairs the vessel or legion, and the body begins its natural healing process.

Is it safe?

Yag pulsed light’s gentle energy parameters assure safe, effective treatment. Uniquely shaped pulses precisely heat their intended targets, causing remarkably little or no skin damage or discomfort. Clinical trials, conducted by leading authorities on pulsed light, document is safety and effectiveness.

Does it hurt?

While pain tolerance is an individual matter, most people tolerate pulsed light treatment well, and describe the sensation as a rubber band snap to the skin. The majority of patients require no anaesthesia, though topical anaesthetic is an option for more sensitive areas.

What to expect?

Laser skin rejuvenation treatments range from 15 to 30 minutes. First the treated area is cleansed and a cool gel is applied. The light pulse is then delivered, with little or no discomfort. After treatment we advise no gym, sauna or hot showers for a minimum of 72 hours.

How many treatments are necessary?

Treatment generally involves a series of five sessions. While some patients see significant improvement in two or three treatments, others may require more. To maintain results patients may opt for follow up treatments.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects are rare. Immediately following treatment, the skin may appear flushed, brown pigmented spots may appear darker and capillaries may be more visible. Scabbing , blisterringnand bruising may occur. To help guarantee the best results, limit your exposure to the sun for several weeks before and after treatment.

What should I do after the treatment?

The cosmetic treatment practitioner will provide a full sheet of aftercare instructions.
